Terms of Service
IMPORTANT: Before you submit any film to K Street Pictures, it is important that you read all of the following, because by making your submission, you are promising that you have done so, and agree with all of the points below. What follows is not a typical license agreement that is long, difficult to read and easy to ignore. It is short, and it is in plain English, and if there is anything you don’t understand, ask us before you make your submission.
Any film meeting the following criteria will be considered:
- The film must be a non-fiction/documentary or a fiction/narrative independent feature.
- The film must not include hate speech, excessive violence, slanderous or libelous claims, or any other actionable offenses.
- The film must not be in the public domain, and must be validly registered for copyright.
- The film must not (i) infringe any rights of public or privacy, moral rights or IP rights, including any music-related rights, (ii) be defamatory or indecent, and (iii) violate any applicable laws.
In Addition:
- You must have the authority to submit the film for our consideration.
- You must have obtained all the necessary rights (including music rights), consents, authorizations and licenses covering the film.
- There must not be pending or anticipated litigation regarding the film.
- In the event you submit the film without having the authority to do so, or without having obtained all the necessary rights, or if there is any legal issue with the film, you agree by submitting it to K Street Pictures that you will be entirely responsible for the consequences of the submission.
- Of course, K Street Pictures respects the legal rights, including copyrights, of every creative person. But certain things are not necessarily protected by copyright – ideas, for example. We will not infringe any legitimate copyright, but films based on similar ideas and premises show up in the marketplace every day. Your submission to K Street Pictures will not put K Street Pictures in any legal position that is different from any other company or member of the public (that is, if another script or film that K Street Pictures owns, or is developing, contains similarities to your film, K Street Pictures will only be responsible for that similarity if it is genuine copyright infringement).
- Your submission does not constitute an agreement of any kind between you and K Street Pictures, or any promise on the part of K Street Pictures to do anything whatsoever.
